You have arrived at Sofia airport to start your holidays in Bulgaria and when you are going to see what options you have to go from the airport to the centre you discover that there are two, or take a taxi or go to the subway, perhaps if it is your first time in Bulgaria you would prefer to take a taxi rather than the metro. But how much does it cost to take a taxi?
It is true that here in Bulgaria taxis and public transport are cheaper than in the rest of Europe, because a taxi from the airport to downtown Sofia can not cost you more than 15 lev, which would be 7.5 euros and from the airport to the train or bus station the price is around 25 lev, which would be about 12.5 euros, quite cheap compared to the prices of other European capitals.
We can also find the metro which is easy to use because it only has two lines and costs 1.6 lev, price that also has the tram that runs along the streets of Sofia, trolleybuses that are a mixture of bus and tram as they run connected to electricity, which makes them more environmentally friendly and buses.
Train prices to travel from one city to another in Bulgaria is not very high, from Sofia to Plovdiv round about 9.50 lev. The price of Sofia to Varna is over 33.60 lev.
The bus prices to go from Sofia to Plovdiv are between 12 and 22 cams, the bus from Sofia to Varna we can find it between 17 and 45 cams, as we see the prices are very varied. This is one of the good things about Bulgaria without a doubt, being able to travel all over Bulgaria at a very good price.
