New Year, new life! There's no cliché as used as this one but this time touch us very deep! After two weeks traveling through Turkey and meeting a lot of Erasmus students living abroad has born in us the necessity to start a new project! ( SO, life=project! ) . From now on in this page will be provided tips to help people understanding better Bulgaria culture and living the country in all its beauty !

So don't worry if people say no moving the head from up to down, or in the supermarket you cannot find decent tuna and you would like to cook some Bulgarian food or if you have always wanted to visit every single corner of Bulgaria but you are really scared about the Trains and busses slowness, we are here for you! This section of our blog is dedicated to all the people currently having an experience in BG and trying the best from themselves to merge into a new culture without losing the compass!

How was you first impact with Bulgaria?

In our first week the highest gap between home and here was for sure dealing with very different language and alphabet along with a weird way of say yes/no! Trying to communicate with very welcoming people without being able to understand each other can be frustrating at first!

The solution, as we were told, is to put a lot of effort in learning a so different language. Ok, maybe this is no the most baffling advice ever, but trying is different than knowing.

You are not asked to become a C1 level in Bulgarian, but to learn basics in order to be understandable by people that really want to interact with you. English is not the answer, it's not spoken and anyway wouldn't help you to get deep in this culture!

Do you know what else can help you getting deeper in Bulgaria? Knowing how to cook Banitsa, finding the smartest way to reach the opposite side of the country ( hitchhiking), being able to create a martenitsa during the 1st of March Baba Marta Day! We will provide you information for this and many other things!
